The Galactic News Network (GNN) is by far the largest news agency in the
Federation. It is a privately owned company based on the planet Babel. It has
offices all over the Federation, the Klingon Empire and other governments.
GNN is the only Federation news outlet that ever had an office on Romulus
though it was closed.
GNN came into creation in 2308 and took the press industry by storm, rapidly
buying up smaller private news outlets and creating an information
conglomerate. By 2330, it was already the largest news agency in the
Federation.
Apart from news, GNN also provides weekly talk and discussion forums that
frequently wins awards for their content. Its most recent award was in 2373
with a frank discussion with former Starfleet Admiral Leyton, convicted of
treason.
