San Francisco, Earth: Starfleet Command today organized the 1st and 2nd
Fleets in an effort to create organized tactical units should war break out
between the Federation and the Dominion.
The 1st Fleet’s leader has not been chosen yet but speculation points to
Admiral William Hathaway, the current Director of Starfleet Strategic Affairs.
The flagship of the 1st Federation Fleet is the USS Sovereign, a Sovereign-
class starship. The 1st Fleet is designed as an assault fleet, comprised of
three assault wings of starships, or about 115 ships.
The 2nd Fleet will be under the command of Admiral T’Lara who will also
remain as the head of Starfleet Tactical. Admiral T’Lara has chosen the USS
Andromeda, a Galaxy-class starship, as her flagship. The 2nd Fleet is
designed as a strategic fleet, comprised of two wings of fast attack craft and
starships if superior sensor capabilities.
