San Francisco, Earth: The United Federation of Planets has signed the Alliance
Pact of 2373 with the Klingon Empire and has declared war on the Dominion
and Cardassian Empire. The Alliance agreement passed in the Federation
Council with a 76% vote. The new terms of the agreement call the unified
military forces of the UFP and the Klingon Empire the “Federation Alliance.”
Just after the declaration of war was delivered via subspace, elements of the
Federation First and Second Fleets, under the command of ADM William
Hathaway, attacked and destroyed the shipyards at Torros III, the largest
Dominion Starship construction facility in the Alpha Quadrant.
Other items in the Alliance Pact of 2373 dictate the following: Creation of the
“Command Authority” comprised of Starfleet Command and Klingon Defense
force leaders to be determined at a later date; Starfleet Command is now on a
constant yellow alert; complete amnesty to all marquee and former marquee
members located in any allied space, ports or areas; immediate signal of all
Klingon and Federation starship prefix codes to Command Authority;
disclosure and total synchronization of all Federation and Klingon coded
subspace frequencies.
