Council Elects Paul as Federation
President

San Francisco, Earth: This morning, the Federation
Council announced the replacement of Jaresh-Inyo. The
Federation Councilman from the Alpha Centauri colony,
Jonathan Paul, will become the new Federation
President effective at noon time tomorrow, January 5th.
President Jonathan Paul was one of the driving forces to
ally the Federation with the Klingon Empire and stop the
Dominion before their foothold in the Alpha Quadrant
became too secure. In his fifteen years on the
Federation Council, Jonathan Paul served as Chairman
of the Starfleet Research and Development Council and
Co-Chairman of the Federation Security Council. Before
elected to the Council, Paul was Governor of Alpha
Centauri for one term and a former prosecutor in New
London, one of the largest cities on Alpha Centauri.
Speculation of Councilman Jilad Tala taking over as
President were unfounded as Tala had no interest in
serving as President and was still considering if he’d
return to the Council in the next election. Alpha Centauri
will hold new elections next month to elect a
replacement Councilmember.
