Federation Fourth Fleet and Klingon Tenth Destroyed;
Coridan Rescued
February 19, 2374
San Francisco, Earth: The Fourth Federation fleet was trapped in an
engagement near Coridan by attacking Jam’Hadar and Cardassian ships. The
Fourth Fleet sent out a distress call which was received by the Federation
Third Fleet and the Klingon Tenth Fleet. Before the Third Fleet arrived, the
Fourth Fleet and Tenth Fleet had been decimated but had weakened the
attacking Dominion ships enough for the Third Fleet to drive off the attack.
The Coridan representative to the Federation Council thanks the lives of all
those lost in defending his world from Dominion invasion. However, the
Dominion attack seemed to focus on destroying the dilithium mines rather
than an occupation.
The loss of the two fleets puts a large gap in the defense of the middle
Federation sectors. Command Authority is already dealing with the problem,
an assured Fleet Admiral Marquette commented.
